Decorate your Rosh Hashanah Table with an original handmade
set of ceramic pomegranates each individually handmade by the up-and-coming
young Israeli artist/craftsman Idi Zevan. Each set has two pomegranates, one
large and one medium sized and are deep red in color. They look so real, be
careful your guests don’t try to peel them. As one of the seven species
mentioned in the torah and indigenous to The Land of Israel, pomegranates are
as heavily laden with Jewish symbology and legend as they are with seeds. It
is said that King Solomon designed his crown based on the crown of
a pomegranate and the Midrash says that each rimmon contains 613 seeds, corresponding
to the 613 mitzvot found in the Torah. The rimmon ripens just in time to become
one of the special foods traditionally eaten at the beginning of the festive
meals on the two nights of Rosh Hashana. Each of the foods symbolizes another
aspect of our lives that we ask HaShem to increase or improve. Before eating
the rimmon, we ask HaShem to increase our merit like the seeds
of a rimmon. Made
in Israel. [Large - Diameter: 3.6 " / 9
