This attractive and unusual Challah cover has been hand-embroidered
using a mosaic-effect design that portrays the Madaba Map. In traditional mosaic
colors of reds and blues, silk threads of been used to imitate the classic mosaic
style, which has been embroidered using chain-stitch onto an off-white background
of raw-cotton. At the centre of the design in gold thread the word ‘Shabbat’ has
been embroidered in Hebrew. Design by the Israeli artist Yair Emanuel [height
