When the Twelve Tribes of Israel miraculously crossed the Red Sea on dry
land, Moses led the people in the ecstatic Song of the Sea. As recorded in
the Book of Exodus , Miriam took the Women off to the side of the camp and
led the women in song as well, leading them on her tambourine. Yair Emanuel
